Flinders Street Market’s Giant Secret Santa, Adelaide CBD
Not so much a market, but a really cool event aimed to bring the local Adelaide community together & feed that Christmas spirit. For some people in the wider Adelaide community, for one reason or another, they don’t receive a gift a Christmas time, or some people don’t have someone to give to. This initiative was designed to include those people in the festive season and is a great excuse to let the art-and-crafty side of everyone create a handmade gift of goodness. This is the first year Flinders Street Market have done this, so lets make it a good one! To participate in this event is really easy:

1 – Click here for the Flinders Street Market website and register yourself for this event. It is only $5 to register and you can do it online with a credit card.
2 – Once registered, get thinking, making, putting together, baking, stitching or whatever gets your creative juices flowing! For those who have the enthusiasm but not so much manual dexterity, you can always buy one of the many lovely hand crafted items they sell at Flinders Street Markets, or get a crafty friend to help you! (Gift value up to $20)
3 – Now you have your lovely gift, wrap it in a creative way, go all out there, remember the intention of this is to make a total stranger smile and feel the love.
4 – Last but most important, deliver your gift on a nominated weekend at the gift collection stall, where you will also receive your Secret Santa!

It’s a really fun and easy way to bring Adelaide together during a time where for some of us can be very difficult. Plus, while you’re making, baking and creating, you may find yourself with a new hobby? Who knows?!

FSM Giant Secret Santa costs $5 to register and around $20 per gift. Gifts must be in at the Flinders Street Market by the 19th of December 2015 for distribution. For more information, visit their website here.
